So I need a place to store these. Why don't I have a del.icio.us account, I wonder?
The Weeds in Your Heart by Mosca
Ten years down the road Julian goes to Cardassia because, as they say, the things we regret most in life...
It has a certain melancholy to it and is surprisingly satisfying.
Paths Not Taken by Selena
Five ways their relationship didn't end.
This is so sharp, both the things left unsaid and those put into words. (Many fanfic writers have the tendency to ignore character traits that could get in the way of The Ship; Selena is not one of them.)
The Converse Symmetry Series Pt I & II by Terrie H. Drummonds:
This is huuuge! The author has created an entire new universe (quite literally): A subspace anomaly causes the crew of the USS Defiant from an alternate universe, led by Captain O'Brien, Ambassador Bashir, and Dukat, to cross over into DS9's universe.
There is such longing is this beautiful story, the alternative universe is described in so much loving detail, and the AU!Bashir-Garak-Bashir triangle is... well, I fail to find the right words; but it always touches me somewhere deep inside. ;)
Condemnation by Elizabeth Helena:
A most convincing story about Garak's past and how it effects his present (love)life.
Proceed with caution and tissues.

"So here I was, fifteen years down the road from that, flirting on purpose. Loudly, in public, on a planet where no one would assume this was just good-natured bickering. I might as well have been shaking my tail feathers."
It has a certain melancholy to it and is surprisingly satisfying.

“What a lovely sentiment,” Garak said, echoing Bashir’s words from years ago, but with a strange kind of excitement instead of the youthful indignation Bashir had felt at the time. Still, he gave Tain’s old answer. What else was there to say, after all?
“And it comes straight from the heart.”

“The tailor offered a fleeting smile and called out, "I believe these are our guests from the other universe." [...]
An impassive mask had slipped over [AU!Bashir's] features, probably the same one [AU!Elim] had coached him on endlessly.”

“A delicious little shake of the Doctor's head. He didn't understand, but then he was still young, Garak excused. Perhaps one day he might learn that the most convincing deceptions are those closest to the truth. Of course, such lies always involved a terrible risk of deceiving oneself.”
Proceed with caution and tissues.
