I was asking mata090680 earlier today (THANKS FOR HAVING ME, BTW! :D), "How many wank-free Ship Wars do you know of?" And she would have said none if I'd have let her finish - I may or may not have been a little bit over-enthusiastic about this - but here's the thing. Over at st_respect there's a Ship War about to start that will of course not end the decade long battle over which is The One True Pairing in the Star Trek universe. The weapons with which this war is fought are creativity and wit. So, really, in the end, everyone wins. :)

Here's what the introduction says:

Now, you might be asking yourself: What is Ship Wars?

The answer to that question is quite simple. Ship Wars is a bloody* battle to the death* for the only true OTP. While some people would resort to bludgeoning their competition* with a heavy club or perhaps an out-dated computer monitor, we have decided to go with a more productive method.

Simply put, Ship Wars is challenge to demonstrate the worthiness and superiority of your ship through the creative medium. Instead of resorting to physical violence*, we will be relying on the written word and visual art to sway the undecided and decidedly decided into the grander appreciation of YOUR SHIP.

Phase 1 of Ship Wars is recruiting and sign ups. You are responsible for dragging as many of your like-minded friends to join in and bring their enthusiasm and skills to prove that YOUR SHIP is the best and perhaps only OTP.

Phase 2 of Ship Wars is getting to know your new team and building up enthusiasm. Your Captain will give you more details at this point.

Phase 3 is when the battle begins!*

At the end of Ship Wars there will be only one ship with the right to boast and brag that it is the best and biggest. Is that going to be your ship?

chani_atreides is planning an RDJ & Jude Law appreciation outing (entry is flocked so a link would be useless). On Tuesday they'll be at the Cinestar Potsdamer Platz for the Sherlock Holmes premiere (sadly, no tickets for the movie available yet. Meh. ) Anyone wanna go?
