i gotta say i was touched. i don't know about anyone else but i was touched.
even though the bond between rose and the doctor that really got me in the first season felt only half-true in the second season; especially after the return of the ex-companion in the beginning of said season. mind you, i haven't seen any doctor before the ninth one, so i'm just guessing where i probably shouldn't. but isn't it true that the doctor's had quite a few companions, and once they're gone they're practically forgotten? (see 2.03 school reunion) and he wasn't awfully quick to assure rose that that won't happen to her.
furthermore, is there a Guidebook To When You've Just Changed: #1 You're still the same, but different. (for refence see: Star Trek-DS9: The Trill.) to me it felt like he's too busy coming to terms with being all new to seamlessly resume his
but towards the end of season2 i think they found their own thing. and, to rose's never-ending woe, it wasn't sexual; romantic maybe, in a way, but probably not sexual. traveling through time and space and fighting whatnots and havebeens was both their lives, there was virtually no other life imaginable for both of them. and rose being a mere 21st century earth girl and having the hotties for the doctor clung to him
so after she was swept away by her father type of person, when they lean against the same wall in very different universes, i was very sad indeed.
on a sidenote on fictional tv: daddy's got a timing you just have to respect...
