is it explained anywhere how the whoverse's names work?

i mean, do they get to pick their own names at some point, or are they slapped onto them according to preferences and personality?

also, this is where fangirls (and -boys?) explain in fine words why, when it comes to death by sexy, they happily go on suicide missions by watching doctor who (here: the sound of drums). seriously, the whole thing is quotable, which is why i'm not quoting anything ;)

I love The Phone Sex scene almost as much as the "remove 1/10 of the population" scene. *happy sigh* It's an awesome episode.

you can see how the master is fumbling in his pockets to get his mobile to hear his voice close to his ear. and then he swallows. when the doctor answers his, "Doctor", with a simple, "Master", you can only guess how many times they have actually whispered it into each other's ears that it rings so of great familiarity.

simms and tennant deliver that dialogue insanely well. sigh. it's a great relief to me to know that there are guys who know how to be sexy ;)

that is very sad indeed :( can't the doctor (if he wanted to) travel back in time, because time is, in actuality, so timey-wimey? well, i guess not...

also, i almost settled for jb and gdl just not having the right chemistry to pull it off on screen. then i watched Fragments where they fight Myfanwry (or however their pet dinosaur is called)...

i am very sad indeed now.

He could (and wants to too, you can see it in his sad puppy dog eyes!!), but RTD doesn't want to ;.;

I think the actors have a certain chemistry, just not anything special, the problem I think are the character roles :/

well, i think he actually mustn't go back since he can't revive their happy teens and - i read it in a fic i think, timelords know how to bend time and in which direction - seeing the master again would be less bending time, and more snapping it.

character roles. you can say that, yeah.

wasn't he just?!? (and btw i love torchwood for not wasting time with stupid explanations as to why he *needs* to get into there!) and you can see that he was soo close to actually kissing jack (CHEMISTRY?? That's how it's done!! i'm headdesking so hard right now), and when he turns around you can see him struggling not to cry. poor, poor ianto, everyone wants your body, dead or alive.
i wonder how far he would've gone to get into torchwood?

yes, but where would they live?
clearly, the master was insane in a rather unhealthy way; and he wasn't bothered much about it. i think he made the right choice by not regenerating. the doctor wouldn't have let him go and evidently the master didn't wanted to kill him; so would've have to live with him inside the tardis for eternity, and he didn't strike me as *that* domestic. (although, the vast possibilities of domestic!doctor/master..)
btw, are we talking about the doctor or rtd?

ianto can be so determined! but gosh, he had a whole different attitude! i wonder if it really was all just fake and why we don't see any of it anymore. :(

Yeah, he seemed really different. Desperation maybe? Would be interesting to know if he'd do the same for his new team, at another Torchwood Institute or UNIT.
Wikipedia says that we only have one information about Torchwood 2: All that is known about the Glasgow division of the Torchwood Institute is that what is described as a "very strange man" works there and that it is presumably active ... ok, two things :P

true. and the key words being 'not even thinking about the consequences'. when i say it's prolly better that he didn't regenerate i'm talking from an outsider's pov. but i'm fairly sure the doctor would argue with me here. aww, tru wuv foreva!

if you ask me, all that rtd really wants to see is john barrowman in pain, emotionally or physically; but preferably both at the same time.

i'd say he got pretty attached to torchwood three, seeing how he cried like a baby in exit wounds. but still, the circumstances with lisa, after torchwood one burnt to ashes, were different. saving her became his sole purpose in life. i think he gained something since he started at torchwood three, so i think he would still go a long way to save anyone of them, but maybe not out of desperation (unless They took it all away from him and he would have to get them back singlehandedly). sorry, i'm drunkandtired, i'm afraid i'm not making much sense... :/
